the Lord as a child and knew how much He said He loved me%2C but all in my life was now gone%2C taken away%3B I was all alone%2C so I thought%2E  Because of this%2C I went searching and looking for love and fulfillment and it did not matter where or through whom or in what that I found it%3B I just wanted and needed to be LOVED%21%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AThe pain was great and the hurt that was enveloping me was slowly eating away at every emotion of caring and compassion that I ever had or had ever known%2E Eventually%2C I would and did find a way to drown%2C even cover up and forget all that had happened%2E At long last%2C I found it%21 The answer to my searching and longing%2C yes%2C there it was%3B in a can%2C a bottle%2C a glass%2C anything that would drown out my feelings%2E Beer%2C wine%2C rum%2C I just knew this would kill the pain and heartache for sure%2E Then%2C just maybe I could feel love again%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AWRONG%21%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AI would drink and dance the nights away and start all over again the next day because the pain that I thought was gone the night before%2C was back again%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AThe drinking alone didn%27t do it%3B what about men%3F Yes%2C I%27m sure this must be where the answer lies%2E I would find love again there for sure%2E Just keep dating%2C running around and searching here and there until you find the right man with just the right words softly spoken%2C words that would invariably melt your heart%2E Words that will melt the pain and take the hurt away%2E But alas%2C there I was searching for that elusive love in all the wrong things and places again%21%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AEventually the drinking landed me in the hospital in a semi%2Dcoma in the Detox Unit%2E Severe Pancreatitis had set in and now I learned I was a borderline diabetic%2E Two weeks in the hospital on strict bed rest turned out to be an unforeseen miracle%2E You see%2C I left the hospital free from diabetes and Pancreatitis%21%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AWas that the end%3F I would try a few drinks just one more time and back to another hospital I went%2E At this one I had to go to AA Meetings and while there I met a man who seemed to care%2C who said all the right things%2C and seemed to have the many answers to my problems%2E %22WOW%21%22 I thought%2C %22OH MY%2C I have finally found the answer%2C it%27s him%2C he%27s the one%2E%22 He seemed so loving%2C kind and genuine%2C and I needed that in my life%2C I needed him%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AAs an outcome of being in the hospital%2C I had no place to live%2C had no job any more and here was a man who was living in a house with some of his non%2Ddrinking friends offering me a place to stay until I could get on my feet%2E Needless to say I jumped at the offer still believing he was the answer to all I had been looking for%2E I can remember even now%2C %22bet one day we will marry%22 is exactly what I was thinking%2E I was still looking for and clinging to my desire of trying to find love all on my own%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0ATime passed and we grew closer as a few years went by%2C but I knew I was not in love with him%2E I was in love with the idea%2C the dream that someone cared about me and did not throw me away because of my past or the mistakes I had made%2E Eventually he did ask me to marry him and with a bit of hidden reluctance I said yes%2E You see I had shoved God way down on the ladder of my life%2C but at that moment I clearly heard the Spirit of the Lord say NO%21 God%2C my Heavenly Father%2C had been there all the time%21  I know this to be true because the things I had done%2C people I had been with%2C and the places I had been to had put me in very serious and dangerous circumstances more than once%2E It was God%27s hand on my life keeping me safe despite my own actions%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AEventually we were married%2C and it was a beautiful Ceremony%2E Being an Artist and Floral Designer I had made everything myself%2E I picked out the Best Man%27s%2C Groom%27s%2C and Bridesmaid%27s clothing%2E Now I was in love with arranging and planning the Wedding%2C not in fact%2C getting married%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0ADoes it seem strange to you%3F Not to me at the time%2E There was a certain kind of dread hanging over the wedding and the plans%2E The day of the Ceremony I came to know that to be all too true%2E God had sent me a warning%2C a virtual spiritual red flag again of His previous NO%21 This time my wedding gown had gotten caught and wrapped around the gear shift of the car and it shifted from forward into reverse all by itself and I was all but seriously hurt%2E The car stopped short from rolling into the woods and then into the creek at about 20 feet%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AThe realization of ignoring the spiritual warnings concerning this non God%2Dordained marriage came after our first 3 days of marriage%2E We had made a Pre%2DNuptial contract which most people frown upon%2C but this was for a reason%2E On that 3rd day he said a few things to me that opened my eyes in shock%2E One of those things was that he only agreed to the pre%2Dnup because he knew that after we were married he would change me%2E This would be his way%2C his control and done as he saw fit%21 O MY%21 There was no doubt in my mind he meant what he said%3B I could see his determination as I looked in his eyes%2E Here I was%2C thinking I have finally found the love that I had looked for%2C and now I was in this mess%2E I finally realized that I saw him for who he really was%3B only now I was married to him%21%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AI cried out to God for His forgiveness%2C Grace and Mercy because of all that I had done and the fact that I had gone totally against His will for my life in an act of disobedience%2E This is what can happen when you go looking for a relationship or your ideal of love in all the places we were never meant to look%3B no matter what our reasoning may be at the time%3B especially when what we seek we place above the Lord and what He wants for us%2C first and foremost%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AMake sure%2C as I said in the beginning%2C that you have died to self completely and fallen totally head over heals in love with Jesus and that you want Him more than anything or anyone else in your life%2E I believe God will never promise or give you the spouse He has for you until this is so%2E%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AI hear some say%2C %22well God said this was the man I am to marry%2C pray for me%2E%22%0D%0A%3CP%3E%0D%0AWe can pray for you%2C for assurance that they are the person that our Heavenly Father has placed in your life%3B then there will be no doubt at all that they are truly sent from God for you%2E I want you to realize just one more thing before getting married or thinking about getting married or%2C if you are looking for love in all the places you know your inner spirit is cautioning you about%2E The divorce rate in the Body of Christ is higher and more frequent than divorce among non%2DChristians%2E Make sure%2C please%2C be very sure that you don%27t go through what I did by ignoring the prompting and leading of the Holy Spirit within you%2E Think long and hard about it and seek the Lord with all of your heart%2E He will always be true and be there for you to guide and lead your
